4-H Youth Development
Our 4-H program provides a creative a supportive environment in which culturally diverse youth and adults can reach their full potential. Our local county program works to develop life skills to help young people become self-directed, productive citizens. 4-H Realizes the Power and Promise of Today's Youth. The 4-H youth development movement provides opportunities for all youth ages 5-19, to participate in innovative, fun programs through which they can develop valuable lifelong skills. Today, 4-H in the United States involves seven million youth, 50 million alumni, and more than 1,000 learn-by-doing programs ranging from leadership and nutrition to rocketry and agriculture. 4-Hers learn valuable skills, have fun, make new friends, solve problems, earn awards and recognition, practice citizenship, develop leadership skills, and make a difference in their communities. There are currently 240 4-H members in Lea County participating in projects such as: Clothing,Shooting Sports, Food and Nutrition, Leadership, Animal Science, Horticulture, Livestock, Small Engines,and many, many more!!!!
