Family and Consumer Science Programs

Panel Quilting Workshop - September 22-23, 2022 at 9 am
Do you purchase panels, but don't know what to do with them? Here's your chance! Come learn how to create Quilts, Table Runners, Wall Hangings and much more at this 2 day workshop. There is no fee for the workshop, but you must purchase your own supplies. Call the Extension Office to sign up. This Program will be held at the Lea County Extension Office.

Extension Homemakers Annual Meeting and Luncheon - October 15, 2022
The meeting will begin at 10 am. Members will be awarded prizes for membership, county fair and participation. A sandwich lunch will be served at 12 noon, with the Annual Holiday Show to begin at 1 pm. The Annual Meeting will be held in the Yucca Building on the Lea County Fairgrounds.

Extension Homemakers Holiday Show - October 15, 2022
The Extension Homemaker Clubs will be demonstrating lots of Fall and Christmas Crafts, Homemade Gifts and Great Holiday Recipes to try. Program starts at 1 pm in the Yucca Building on the Lea County Fairgrounds, 101 South Commercial. All participants attending will receive a booklet with craft supplies, instructions and recipes.

Apron Workshop - November 3, 2022 at 10 am
Come make an apron with us! Bring your own pattern, fabric and supplies for this fun sewing workshop. Call the Extension Office to sign up. This program will be held at the Lea County Extension Office.

Youth Development Programs

NM State Fair
Lea County 4-Her's will be exhibiting indoor and animal projects during the Lea County Fair. If your in Albuquerque, stop by and check out their projects.

Eastern New Mexico State Fair
Animal entries are due September 26, 2022. Go to ENSMF for online entries. If your need help with your animal projects, contact Jimmy at the extension office.

Lea County 4-H Council
The Lea County 4-H Council will meet in September 27, 2022. Officer applications for the 2022/2023 Officer Team are due to Emily by October 14th. Applications can be found under 4-H Council.

Ranch Horse Show
Lea County 4-H Horse Project Youth will be hosting a Ranch Horse Show, October 22, 2022 at the Lea County Fairgrounds, Jake McClure Arena. Classes include: Cow Work, Reining, Ranch Pleasure, and Ranch Trail. The show is open to Adults and Youth.
