Please Welcome Our New FCS Agent, Ashten Alexander!
Ashten was born and raised in southeast New Mexico. Growing up she helped her family with their hay operation, commercial vegetable garden, and feedyard. After high school she attended West Texas A&M University and obtained a bachelor’s in animal sciences.
Alexander brings a wide range of knowledge to the table and is ready to help families and individuals build skills that strengthen their homes and communities. In her new role she is ready to host educational programs focused on areas such as food preservation and canning, homesteading, nutrition, and other skills that promote healthy, self-sufficient living. She has a passion for helping people get the most out of God’s bounty.
Alexander stated, “I am so excited for the opportunity to serve our community. My goal is to teach topics that can be passed on from generation to generation. If there are ever any questions, concerns, or topics that the community wants to learn about, they can email me at asalexander@nmsu.edu.”
